The Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court has ordered the Department of Immigration and Emigration to impound the passport of the Chairman of Avant Garde, the company to which the floating armoury found aboard a ship at the Galle harbour belongs to.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya made this order following a request made by the Criminal Investigations Department.

The CID had submitted to court that if the Chairman of the security firm was to leave the country, it would hamper the ongoing investigation into the floating armoury discovered in Galle.
