Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake says that a final agreement pertaining to the seating arrangement within the Parliament has not been agreed upon based on the present situation.

Speaking to News1st, Dhammika Dasanayake stated that an agreement in this regard will be reached tomorrow.

The Secretary General of Parliament added that during a meeting held among party leaders on Monday, an agreement was reached to seat leaders of parties within the United People’s Free Alliance in the first row.

Elaborating further, Dassanayake said that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is due to make a special address on Tuesday, when Parliament convenes for the first time since the conclusion of the Presidential election on January 8.

Dhammika Dasanayake also added that it was decided during Monday’s party leaders’ meeting that Parliament will convene again on January 29.
