According to the Disaster Management Centre, cleanup and renovation have commenced on 25,000 houses damaged due to recent extreme weather.

Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili stated that 6500 houses have been completely destroyed due to the inclement weather while 18500 other houses have been damaged. He noted that estimates on the expenses for renovating these houses is currently being prepared and added that steps are underway to purify wells contaminated due to floods in several areas.
Meanwhile, 40,000 people have been displaced in several incidents of landslides and floods.
