The police have arrested two suspects in connection with a recent shooting in Wellampitiya.

The suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting of a stage erected at the Umagiliya Sports Ground, which was to host a rally to muster support for presidential candidate Maithripala Sirisena.

Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana added that the police are on the lookout for six more suspects.
