The father and brother of a 29-nine-year-old individual, who was killed after being assaulted with a club and then pushed off cliff to his death, have been taken into police custody.

Meanwhile, one person was shot to death last night in Hagaranwatte which comes under the purview of the Meetiyagoda Police Division. The shooting had taken place at around 10.30 on Wednesday night. The victim was thirty-six-year-old Ashok Pradeep Kumara.

It has been revealed that the individual had been shot while stepping out of his residence. Meetiyagoda Police have commenced the investigations. The body of the deceased is currently lying at the Balapitiya Base Hospital.
