Sixty-six Indian fisherman in Sri Lankan custody were released on Monday

Thirty eight (38) fisherman were released after they were produced before the Kayts Magistrate on Monday night.

Twenty eight more Indian fisherman were released on Monday after begin produced before the Point Pedro Magistrate.

Deputy Director of the Fisheries Department in the Jaffna district N. Ganeshmoorty noted that 15 Indian fisherman remain in Sri Lankan custody.

Meanwhile, thirty Sri Lankan fisherman in Indian custody were released on Monday.

The Fisheries Department added that the fisherman will be exchanged at the international maritime boundary on Tuesday.
