A protest was held in the Ahetuwa -Nithogama Junction in Galgamuwa on Thursday.

The protesters demanded that an immediate solution be provided for the threat of wild elephant attacks.  Residents of four villages participated in this protest.

They stated that their lives and property are constantly in grave danger due to the threat of these wild elephants. The protesters requested that an electric fence should be constructed as soon as possible.

Discussions were held thereafter with an official attached to the Ahetuwewa Pradeshiya Sabha who arrived at the location.

According to our correspondent, the protesters dispersed after the official promised to provide a solution as soon as possible.
