Former Minister Navin Dissanayake called on the chief prelates on Thursday. Navin Dissanayake paid homage at the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic.
Thereafter, he called on the Chief Prelate at the Malwathu Viharaya.
Navin Dissanayake made the following observations:
“I resigned from my ministerial portfolio. I hope to work together with the forces that are working towards abolishing the executive presidency. I have already joined them. So, both sides will be able to see this decision but I can tell you that my actions were a result of what I felt in my heart.”
Chief Prelate of Malwathu Chapter, Most Ven. Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero said;
“Gamini Dissanayake was a good politician. So, the son should be the same, shouldn’t he? I have been talking about the Executive Presidency for a long time now.”
