The three Sirasa Shakthi Sahana Yathra aid convoys which left from Colombo on Saturday morning, carrying much needed relief for people who have been displaced by recent landslides and floods, are nearing their final destinations and have begun distributing aid.
The convoy carrying aid for victims of the Koslanda landslide in Meeriyabedda and people who have been displaced due to the risk of landslides journeyed via the Ratnapura – Colombo road upto Beragala.
During the journey, the convoy distributed aid at the Pelmadulla Divisional Secretariat, Kahawaththa, Endana and Hapugasthenna in Ratnapura to people who have been displaced due to the risk of landslides.
The convoy which made itsway along the Colombo Kandy road, distributed aid in Walapane, Kotmale and Nuwara Eliya.
Another convoy journeyed to Teldeniya in Kandy.
