Landslide warnings have been issued to several districts along with the onset of the inclement weather condition experienced over the country

Landslide warnings have been issued for Bandarawela, Ella, Passara, Uva-Paranagama, Haldummulla, Haputale and Hali-Ela in the Badulla District.

Those traveling along the Ella- Wellawaya Road, Haputale Beragala Road, Badulla – Mahiyangannawa Road and the Hali-Ela -Welimada Road in the Badulla district have been advised to exercise caution.

The Disaster Management Centre also issued a warning of earth slips and landslides to all areas coming under the purview of the Nuwara-Eliya district.

Warnings were also issued for the Ratnapura, Balangoda and Imbulpe District Secretariat Divisions and Egoda, Waleboda, Megoda, Waleboda and Ravana Kandy areas. Areas that are prone to landslides in the Matale district are, Raththota,Ukuwela, Matale, Ambangaha, Yatawatte, Pallepola and Na- Ula.

Areas that are prone to landslides in the Kegalle district have been identified as Mawanella, Aranayake, Deraniyagala, Yatiyanthota, Dehiowita, and Bulathkohupitiya. The DMC futher notes that all divisional secretariats coming under the Kalutara district have been issued landslide warnings.
