President Mahinda Rajapaksha states that powerful nations feel the need to destroy nations developing, on the basis of nationalistic views.

Furthermore, he added that these nations feel the need to change the governments of developing nations, to appoint puppets as Government heads and to break down nationalistic views.

These observations were made by the president at a meeting held with agricultural officers at his Temple Tree’s residence on Saturday.

He also stated that although past leaders have suggested that paddy fields be filled and made use of to construct buildings and to import agricultural products from overseas, the present government has invested a great deal of money in the agricultural sector for its development.
