Information has come to light regarding the beating to death of a Sri Lankan youth employed in Malaysia, five months after the incident.
Twenty-Six (26) year old Mohammed Zafrin, a resident of Puwakpitiya, Galewela, departed for employment in Malaysia in 2013. He last worked at a Car Wash located in the Kampung Padang Java area in Malaysia.
The merciless beating that Zafrin was subjected to was reportedly brought on by minor damage that he had caused to a vehicle.The owner of the Car Wash had allegedly beaten Zafrin on May 26, this year.
The suspect has since been arrested. Zafrin had travelled abroad to earn money to cover the cost of his sister’s higher education.His parents had become worried when they did not hear from him for some time.
Zafrin’s mother said: “My son went to Malaysia but for the past four months he did not speak to us and there was no money.”
