Police Headquarters says that the circulation of forged notes has increased.
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the chief suspects behind these rackets have been arrested and imprisoned.
However, the SSP pointed out that such fraudsters have started to emerge from the divisional level.
SSP Ajith Rohana urged the public to be vigilant while performing transactions and to pay attention to details such as the black strip, the water mark and the embossed signs on the currency note which helps in the identification of forged notes.
He requested the public who to hand over such forged notes to the police, if they are received.
