Investigations have begun into the shooting at a hotel owned by UNP Parliamentarian Palitha Range Bandara in Kaluwaragaswewa Puttalam early Monday morning.

Police said an unidentified gunman had fired at the hotel, breaking windows and causing other damage to property. Police stated however that  no one is believed to have been injured.

The shooting took place at around 3 a.m. Monday.

The attack comes in the wake of MP Bandara and two others being released on bail on Sunday, after they were arrested on charges of assaulting the chairman of the Karuwalagaswewa Pradeshiya Sabha.
