A businessman was shot dead in the Puwakpitiya, Awissawella on Wednesday.  Police say the shooting was orchestrated by two individuals who arrived on a motorcycle.

The deceased has been identified as a forty-year-old resident of Kelinveediya, Puwakpititya.

The body of the deceased is currently lying at the Avissawella Hopsital. Extensive investigations have been launched to apprehend the suspects who are still at large.
