The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has received 1600 internet related complaints in the past eight months. Senior In formation Security Engineer Roshan Chandragupta said that the most number of complaints were in regard to fake accounts on Facebook and similar social media networks.
He added that many people are not aware of the security settings available on social media sites. He requested the public to be careful and exercise discretion when publicising personal information on Facebook and similar social media sites.
