Cricket: Herath’s five-wicket haul puts Sri Lanka ahead

Rangana Herath picked up a five-wicket haul for Sri Lanka on Day 2 of the second Test that is being played against Pakistan at the SSC.

Pakistan currently trail Sri Lanka by 76 runs with 4 wickets remaining. Sri Lanka resumed their first essay on 261 for the loss of eight wickets.

However, they were eventually restricted to 320 runs. Junaid Khan picked up five wickets for the visitors. Pakistan who commenced their reply got off to a steady start with an opening stand of 47 runs.

Kuram Manzoor was the first to fall as he was undone for 23 runs by Rangana Hearth. Hearth bagged his second wicket of the day dismissing Azar Ali for 32. Ahmed Shezad who hammered 58 runs was undone by Dhammika Prasad. Rangana Hearth bagged three more wickets before stumps on day 2.

Pakistan ended the day on 244 runs for the loss of six wickets. Shafraz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 66 runs.
