Seventeen Sri Lankan migrant workers employed in Libya have been repatriated as a result of the current turmoil plaguing the African state.

The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has reportedly spent over  U.S. dollars 100,000 USD to bring these migrant workers back to the country.

Chairman of the bureau Amal Senalanakdhikara stated that there are 30 more migrant workers in Libya, and that they too will be brought back to the country if necessary.
