UPFA Parliamentarian Thenuka Vidanagamage and his brother UPFA Uva Provincial Council candidate Anura Vidanagamage were arrested in connection to the violation of election laws.
According to the Police Media Xpokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana, the duo were produced before court today. They were later released on two sureties amounting to 100,000 rupees each.
Earlier, the Mahiyangana Magistrate ordered the arrest of Thenuka Vidanagamage and Anura Vidanagamage and a group of persons in connection to an incident where the activities of a deputy elections commissioner were obstructed.
