President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that nothing can be achieved by betraying the country to foreigners. The President made this statement during an event held in the Hambantota area.

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party female representatives conference commenced on Saturday under the auspices of President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Singapore Friendship Conference Hall in Hambantota. The event was also graced by Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa.

Speaker, Chamal Rajapaksa expressed these views:
If the country is being directed onto a good path and the needs of the country are being met then we would commend it. However, if there are differences in political and economic policies then they should be explained to us. I wouldn’t say that the journey of the President or the government is 100% correct, there are shortcomings that we could rectify
The President shared views:
We cannot do anything by betraying the country to foreigners. We cannot develop our country if we wait for everything to come from abroad. That is why we developed agriculture, that is why we are developing infrastructure facilities. A country will never develop without proper infrastructure facilities. We cannot solve all problems simply by feeding three square meals a day. We have let go of that era. Just as you love your mother, you should all unite to protect our motherland. We should not allow foreign forces to consume our country. I thank you for your efforts to build this blue barrier of female representatives around the country to protect it.
