A hi-tech ‘loom band’ bracelet that lights up and vibrates when you get Facebook and Twitter messages is being launched.
Hicon will link directly with an iPhone, ensuring all of your social media needs are brought right to your wrist.
The device will deliver updates from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Whatsapp and more, lighting up and vibrating to attract the wearer’s attention.
Like the Loom Band craze, the bracelets come in a variety of colours and icons can be swapped and customised to fit in with each wearer.
The wristband, which features an array of customisable buttons, will even activate when another user is close by, in the hope the pair will make a connection.
Incredibly data, such as a friend request, can be transferred between bangles by simply shaking hands with another Hicon user.
Johnny, one of the creators of Things Lab, who manufacture the bracelet, said: “We check our smart phones, tablets and PCs every six minutes for a total of 150 times per day.
“What a waste of time!
“We thought to solve this problem by creating a physical device, a bracelet, we call it Hicon, it allows us to be always connected to our social networks.
“The idea is to bring the socials from the digital environment to the physical world.
“Whenever you receive a notification on your smart phone icons blink.”
The 13mm bracelet is made of silicone material, ensuring it is fully waterproof and sandproof, and uses Bluetooth 4.0 to link to your smart phone.
It comes in a range of colour options and can be fully customisable to fit the user’s social media preferences – with their chosen social networks added to the bracelet.
Whenever a notification from social networks or by smartphone applications are received, the corresponding icon lights up and vibrates with discretion.
A ‘social matching’ feature also means contacts and social network preferences can be shared with other Hicon users.
The team behind the ingenious design is now hoping to raise $60,000 (£35,352) on crowd funding website Indiegogo so ensure the product hits the shelves by November.
