The Attorney General filed 31 indictments July 18 to those accused of the assassination of Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle.

The indictments were filed against the suspects, including Lakshman Cooray, the former assistant superintendent of police of Gampaha.

The murder trial of Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle was taken up at the Western Provincial High Court in Gampaha.

Here, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

High Court Judge Piyaseeli Wickremesinghe Mathurata ordered that the case be taken up again on September 15.

The suspect shied away from the media when exiting court.
