Proposed security stamp will not be looked at for five years – Min. Johnston Fernando

Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade Johnston Fernando says that the proposed security stamp — which was to be introduced for select goods on August 1 — will not be looked at for another five years.

He made this statement during a debate in parliament on Tuesday.

UNP MP Dr. Harsha de Silva, during his speech, brought to the attention of the government the proposed security stamp.
