Chief Minister of the Northern Province, C.V.Wigneswaran says that the military should be removed from the Northern and Eastern Provinces. The Chief Minister made this comment while engaging in a tour of the Mullaitivu area.

A group including the Chief Minister of the Northern Province toured Mullaitivu to look into the issues faced by the people in those areas.

Northern Province Chief Minister, C.V.Wigneswaran shared these views:

“The military is always in our lives. Because of the military presence here in the North, the normal life of the people have been affected. That is why we are saying that the military needs to be removed from the Northern and Eastern provinces. As a solution to this, divide the military in to nine and send them to all nine provinces. Why is there a military presence in our province alone? Why is a retired military officer being made Governor? This is happening in the Eastern Province as well. If needed, we will take measures via the courts …”
