A 45-year-old individual was killed when a car crashed into an SLTB bus that had been parked on the Samagi Mawatha area along the Kalutara-Bandaragama road.

The police said that the deceased — a resident of Dodangoda — was travelling in the car at the time of the accident.

The driver of the car was injured as a result of the accident and was admitted to the Kalutara Nagoda hospital.

The driver of the bus has been arrested in connection with the incident and further investigations are underway.
