Views were expressed on Indo-Sri Lankan relations during a number of media briefings held on Thursday.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development, Dullas Allahaperuma expressed the following views:

“As the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, we invite you to see Indo-Sri Lankan relations from a fresh perspective.  There is a group that has anti Indian sentiments all the time. Indo-Lankan relations are at a very important juncture. We have a strong government in Sri Lanka and after thirty years India has a strong government. So, we wish to congratulate both strong governments and both the strong leaders. Let us act in a manner which will develop a very healthy relationship between us ..”

Leader of New Sama Samaja Party, Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne shared these views:

“Mahinda Rajapaksa will not fight with Modi. Instead he will bear everything thrown at us. Then individuals such as Wimal Weerawansha cannot remain in his position. If he has any shame,  he will move away from the alliance and contest for the Presidential Election. However, then the individuals who supports devolution will come forward because the votes will be split.”
