Ven Banagala Upatissa Thera writes to Sushma Swaraj

The President of the Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society, Venerable Banagala Upatissa Thera has congratulated the new Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, on her appointment as India’s first woman Minister of External Affairs.

Addressing a letter to the new Indian External Affairs Minister, the President of the Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society notes that her new position will further strengthen the cordial ties she has with Sri Lanka.

Venerable Banagala Upatissa Thera also noted that Swaraj is a leader who has always supported the Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society.

In his letter the venerable thera expressed his gratitude to the new External Affairs Minister, for the support she has given to the annual Sanchi Mahotsav at the Sanchi Viharaya.

In his letter, Venerable Banagala Upatissa Thera also thanked Sushma Swaraj, for the continuous support she has extended towards the International Buddhist University in Sanchi that is under construction.
