The Allied Health Science Faculty Students Union of the Peradeniya University says that they will not sit for exams of a degree programme whose duration has been cut down.
President of the Union Rajith Prasad says that the authorities have stranded the students by not granting a four- year allied sciences degree.
He further said that they will continue their Satyagraha campaign till the duration of the degree is restored to four years.
Today is 151st day of the Satyagraha campaign commenced by the students of the Allied Health Science faculty.
They commenced the campaign in protest of cutting down the duration of the Allied-Sciences degree from four to three years. Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of the Peradeniya University, Professor Athula Senaratne says that it is compulsory for the Allied Sciences students to face the upcoming May 28th exams.
He further said that those students who do not sit for the exams will be considered as ‘failed’.
