Voting on No Confidence Motion against govt – JHU to be absent

Minister Patali Champika Ranawake says Jathika Hela Urumaya will be absent during the vote on the No Confidence Motion against the government.

The United National Party tabled a  No Confidence Motion in Parliament on Tuesday against the government charging that the government had failed to arrest the distribution of drugs in the country.

Meanwhile the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna has decided to vote for the No Condence Motion today, while the National Freedom Front has decided to abstain from voting.

The vote with regard to the motion is due to be taken at 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
