Train driver assaulted in Polgahawela: trains delayed

The Railway Control Room says that it is likely that a delay may occur along the main railway line.

The Control Room added that the driver of the train bound from Mahawa to Colombo was allegedly assaulted by a group of passengers at the Polgahawela Railway Station. As a result the train which commenced journey to Colombo was delayed by a period of thirty eight minutes.

The Railway Control Room pointed out that several office trains and other trains plying along the main railway line will experience delays.
