A collision between two trains occurred at the Aluthgama railway station early Wednesday morning.
The Railway Control Room stated that a train plying from Galle that is used for transporting fuel, collided with a power set stationed at the Aluthgama Station.
The Railway Control Room stated that the accident occurred around 12.50 Wednesday morning, and the train has sustained damages as a result. No passengers were reported to be on board during the time of the incident.
The Railway Control Room said that measures have been taken to remove the train from the tracks.
A spokesperson for the Railway Control Room speaking to News1st also noted that railway services along the Matara and Aluthgama railway route may experience a slight delay.
