A special traffic plan is in effect on Thursday in Colombo due to the May Day celebrations.
Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana stated that a special security plan is in effect in Colombo and other areas around the country where May Day rallies and parades are held.
Meanwhile, police state that there might be a heavy traffic congestion along the Badulla – Colombo Main Road due to the May Day Rally organised by the Ceylon Workers Congress held in the centre of the Bandarawela town on Thursday morning.
Hence, police say that motorists traveling from Colombo to Dambulla should turn left from the roundabout at Bandarawela town and travel along the road near the gas station to travel towards Bidunuwewa.
Motorists travelling from Badulla to Colombo, should turn right from the Bidunuwewa Junction in Bandarawela, come towards the main bus stand close to the Bandarawela market and travel along Park Road to enter the Colombo Road.
