Colours at JVP’s May Day march – and other rallies (Video)

The May Day march organised by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna commenced from the S.D.S. Jayasinghe Grounds in Dehiwala.

Leader of the JVP, MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake, former leader of the JVP and current International Affairs Secretary, Somawansa Amarasinghe and many others took part in the march.

The procession started out from the S.D.S Jayasinghe Grounds and made it’s way along the Saranankara Road and arrived at the Pamankada junction. A number of creative floats added colour to the processions.

The march which entered the High Level Road concluded at the B.R.C Grounds in Colombo.

The Ceylon Workers Congress commemorated May Day in the Bandarawela town on Thursday. SSP Buddhika Siriwardane was injured and hospitalised after a flagstaff fell on his head during the May Day rally.

The main stage of this May Day rally had been erected on the Colombo – Badulla road disrupting the flow of traffic.

The Frontline Socialist Party commemorated May Day at the Navagampura Sports Ground in Grandpass.The Socialist Alliance commemorated May Day today in Nugegoda.

The Socialist Alliance’s procession commenced at the Kirulapona Urban Council grounds.
