Soldiers who rescued children from Nilwala River promoted (Video)

The Sri Lanka Army on the instructions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake promoted all four soldiers who rescued the lives of two children who had been thrown into the Nilwala River by their father recently.

Accordingly, Lance Corporal S.S Manage, Private E.H. De Silva, Private H.K.C. Madushanka,  from  the Matara-based 3 Gemunu Watch (GW) and Private K.M.P.S. Pushpakumara of Engineer Service Regiment (ESR), have been promoted to their next rank,  in appreciation of their acts of bravery.

They will also be awarded special certificates by the Commander of the Army at a separate ceremony at the Army Headquarters on Wednesday April 30.
