MP Sajith Premadasa convened a special media briefing on Tuesday morning.

Speaking at the briefing, Sajith Premadasa made the following statement:

“We are preparing to conduct this affair as we have done continuously over the past 21 years. At the same time a message has been transmitted to the people via the internet and various media institutions to gather for a procession at another location at 11 a.m. There are no such plans. It is a false statement. I request the people of Sri Lanka to not be deceived by this false news and false statements. The event will take place at the premises of the statue of Premadasa. Parallel to the commemoration of the 21st death anniversary of Ranasinghe Premadasa, we hope to hold religious observances for six months, continuously, until the end of the year.”
