Sri Lanka Cricket has announced, that Mahela Jayawardene has tendered his resignation from T20 international cricket.

The SLC stated, that Mahela submitted his letter of resignation to its Chief Executive, Ashley de Silva.

Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara levelled an allegation at the Secretary of the SLC at the media briefing convened at the BIA on Tuesday afternoon.

In response, the SLC has issued a media release on Wednesday criticising the allegations levelled by Mahela.
