Four Manta Rays have been found by two fishing boats that set out to sea from the Hambantota Nilwala fisheries harbor on Thursday.
These Manta Rays are locally called ‘Alimaduwa.’ The fishermen stated that this is a very rare type of Manta Rays are usually found in deeper waters.
Our correspondent said that these Manta Rays weigh more than 300 kilogramme each.
Two of these Manta Rays were sold for 40,000 rupees at an auction at the Hambantota Fisheries Harbour on Thursday morning.
