Reports have suggested that the human skeletal remains found from the excavation sites in Kurunegala are about 9000 years old.

This was revealed by studies conducted by the University of Cambridge in Britain.

Commissioner General of the Department of Archaeology Senarath Dissanayake said that this was an important discovery in connection with Sri Lanka’s history.
