The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment has said that they have uncovered a racket where women were sent for employment in Saudi, via India, with tourist visas.

The Deputy General Manager of the Bureau, Mangala Randeniya said that they were able to uncover this racket with the details they obtained from women who had similarly gone to Saudi for employment and had been abused or gone missing.

He said that when these women were sent overseas, they had been given two tourist visas each.
