Four individuals who were arrested for questioning on suspicion in connection with the Rs 360 million worth of Heroin that was smuggled into the country, have been released
Customs Spokesperson and Director of the Customs Legal Department Leslie Gamini said that this step was taken after the preliminary investigations in this regard were completed.
The 360 kilogrammes of Heroin that was smuggled to the country concealed in bolt nails were seized by the Customs on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Police Narcotics Bureau has commenced investigations on the consignment of Heroin. Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that a few Pakistani nationals who arrived in the country are suspected in connection with the incident.
The boxes containing the Heroin have been sent to the country from Karachi in Pakistan addressed to a Pakistani national.
