According to our reporter in Ukraine the situation there is a lot calmer now than what it was a week ago.

This report is filed by Dr.  Susantha Gamage who resides in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

News1st Reporter in Ukraine Dr.Susantha Gamage said:

“The situation here in Ukraine is a lot calmer now than what it was a week ago. There are less people protesting and organizing meetings. Daily life is slowly returning to normal. There were many disturbances before because the hryvnia – the currency that Ukrainians use – fell heavily in comparison to the dollar. “

“Especially those who are in the export and import business strongly felt this disparity. Everyone was concerned about their salaries and if the country will go to war. But now things are slowly returning to normal and the disparity between the dollar and their currency is no longer that great. The people are hopeful that there will not be a war. They do not like it. And they hope there will be a peaceful resolution.”
