Super Fighter: Seventh phase draws applause in Panadura

The seventh phase of Super Fighter which aims to spot hidden amateur boxing talent in the country began in Panadura on Saturday.

Over 300 boxers took part in the training camp organised in line with the seventh phase of Super Fighter.

Super Fighter, Sri Lanka’s first ever sports reality programme is organised by  MTV/MBC together with MAS Holdings

Chairman of  Sri Lanka Schools Boxing Association, Ven. Omalpe Gnanasara Thero said: “This is a good opportunity for children living in rural areas who face numerous difficulties to shine. This is a national endeavour; we thank the Sirasa Media Network for their contribution in uplifting the game of boxing..”

Trials to select boxers who will advance to round two of the super fighter programme will commence tomorrow. The trials will be carried out under four weight categories.
