Police states that a sergeant attached to the Ududumbara police had committed suicide.

Police Media Unit said that the sergeant had committed suicide on Monday evening by hanging himself.According to Police Media Spokesperson, SSP Ajith Rohana, the sergeant had been temporarily suspended  at the time of death.

The deceased is forty-five-year old father of four, S.M. Ananda Samarasekera, a resident of the Ududumbara area.
