Minister of Wildlife and Conservation, Vijith Wijayamuni Zoysa says that humans are behaving like animals.
He made this statement at a meeting held in at a school in Medegama, Bibila.
“We need to erect fences for elephants and humans. Because humans try to evade lands which are inhabited by animals. Humans are behaving like animals by cutting trees. Once a month we hold a provincial coordinating meeting. We have to report that such events are happening. We cannot wait any longer because if we don’t take action a great destruction will be caused. Other areas experience 100 of acres of land being cleared when hear it is about 12.”
A meeting was held to discuss to raise awareness with regards to the development program in villages which fall under the preview of the Medagama Pradeshiya Sabha in Bibila.
