The US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal says that patience is wearing thin with regard to the progress in implementing the recommendations of the LLRC.
She made this statement during a media briefing convened this evening.
She also responded to several questions raised by journalists and spoke of economic sanctions.
Meanwhile The US Assistant. Secretary of State also travelled to the Northern Province on Saturday. During her tour of the North she met with both religious leaders as well as civil activists.
The US Assistant Secretary of State visited the Nallur Kandasamy Kovil on Saturday morning and later visited the Bishop of Jaffna Rev. Thomas Saundaranayagam.
Journalists also raised questions on statements being made calling for the arrest of the Bishop of Jaffna.
Meanwhile, the visiting diplomat also met with representatives of the TNA yesterday.
