UNP Parliamentarian Sajith Premadasa says that various countries are able to exert pressure on Sri Lanka because of Sri Lanka’s weak foreign policy.
He made this statement at an event held in Hambantota on Sunday.
UNP Parliamentarian, Sajith Premadasa expressed the following views:
“Who paved the way for Mr. Rapp to come to our country and meddle in our internal affairs? It was the weak foreign policy of the present government. If sanctions are imposed against this country in March, it will not be the rulers of this country who live like kings that will be affected. It is the ordinary people. G.L. Peiris who is implementing this weak foreign policy must be held accountable for this. If the Foreign Minister, who cannot work, is fired from the position and veterans like Dayan Jayatilleke, Tamara Kunanayagam, Weeramantry and Desmond Silva are brought in to steer the foreign policy of our country, then we will be able to protect this country.”
The event was held at the Nimbarama Viharaya in Hambantota on Sunday to provide concessionary loans to women, under the Janasuwaya programme.
MP Sajith Premadasa’s birthday, which falls today, was also celebrated at the event.
