Serena Williams may be preparing for the Australian Open, but she took time out to play cricket this week with two world class cricketers.
While the American is more renowned for her play on court, she proved no pushover in front of the stumps as she enjoyed a quick knock in Melbourne alongside sister Venus.
The tryout took place on the roof-top of a high rise in Melbourne where the Sisters faced spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan and Aaron Finch of Australia who are currently taking part in the Big Bash League.
While Serena was unable to understand the need to defend the ball, her power-hitting impressed Sri Lanka’s Muralitharan, a veteran with 800 Test wickets.
