Deputy Minister of Postal Services, Sanath Jayasuriya says he hopes for a political journey devoid of anger and hatred. He expressed these views at an event held in Matara on Tuesday morning. The event was organised to felicitate the Deputy Minister of Postal Services, Sanath Jayasuriya.
A group including employees of the Postal Service attended the event held at the General Post Office in Matara.
Speaking at the event Sanath Jayasuriya said:” The time for elections in the Southern Province is coming again. Once again the time has come where various messages are given to the public. Because of this preferential system, he too is trying to interfere in my electorate.”
“It is already happening in some areas. I do not think about those people. There are people who will look at you with anger and hatred and somehow try to secure their preferential votes. If you have made sacrifices you will reap the rewards. There are people who do more than is necessary too. But they will receive no support from me. I do not wish to be involved with such people.”
