The police stated that two lanes of the Colombo – Puttalam road from the Dandugam Oya bridge till Colombo will be closed for traffic at intervals between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. from Tuesday until further notice.

The reason for this closure is  the carpeting of the road leading from Peliyagoda to Colombo . Motorists are therefore requested to use alternate routes during these hours.

The police advise motorists traveling to Negombo from Colombo to cut across Mattakkuliya, Uswetakeiyawa, Pamunugama and Thalahena to reach Negombo.

Those travelling to Colombo from Katunayake, Seeduwa and Ambalamulla can travel along the Seeduwa – Udugampola road and then cut across Udugampola, Kirindiwita and Ganemulla to Kadawatha. Thereafter, they can
reach Colombo along the Kandy road.
