Speaking at a media briefing convened in Colombo today, Minister of Transport Kumara Welgama commented on a recent incident involving a runaway train engine.

Minister of Transport, Kumara Welgama stated these views; “We are investigating how this happened. But we have seen runaway train engines in other countries too. If there are no trains or employees go on strike, I think the best option for us is to have driver-less engines. The key has made it into the engine. We must look at both sides of the story.”

He added; “We have seen mysterious forces operate in various parts of our country. We cannot say for sure but such things have happened haven’t they? People in our country believe in the paranormal. We cannot disregard this.”
